Care instructions Baby Alpaca

Baby alpaca wool is an excellent material for baby clothing, not least because it possesses natural stain protection. This means that the fiber is naturally water-repellent, allowing liquids to simply be dabbed away rather than absorbed. Oil and other fats are likewise repelled, and baby alpaca does not attract dust, making it a superbly clean and low-maintenance choice.

Nevertheless, your alpaca garments will require washing occasionally. When that time comes, follow these straightforward steps to preserve the quality and longevity of your garment.

  1. Immerse the garment in lukewarm water with a mild detergent (mild shampoo is an excellent alternative).
  2. Gently squeeze the garment to wash it, but be careful not to twist or wring it as this may cause the garment to stretch and lose its shape.
  3. Rinse thoroughly in cool water and gently squeeze to remove excess water. Afterwards, place the garment between two towels and roll them together to absorb more moisture.
  4. Unroll the towels and gently reshape your garment to its original shape.
  5. Place the garment on a flat surface to dry.

It's as easy as that! Enjoy your baby alpaca garment - and learn more about the amazing properties of this material here.
